OKLAHOMA CITY -

Parts of Interstate 44 have been shut down in northeast Oklahoma City, due to an accident involving a semi-truck Friday morning.

According to authorities, at about 6 a.m., east and westbound I-44 was narrowed to two lanes in each direction between Kelley Ave. and Martin Luther King Ave.

At about 1:30 p.m., all lanes of eastbound I-44 are back open. At this time, one westbound lane of I-44 is still shut down.

We're told the truck was carrying some type of seafood. It slid off I-44 in between the Martin Luther King and Kelley exits and hit a light pole. A car driving behind the truck also smacked the light pole and crashed. That car has since been cleared.

Crews have freed the semi driver who reportedly became trapped following the crash. He has been transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.

The driver of the other car involved was also transported to the hospital.

We're told it could take a while for the truck to be removed, but OG&E crews are also on scene along with ODOT. They are working to cut off the power line here since that light pole was knocked down and in pieces and there are still power lines along the wreckage.

Drivers can expect delays and should consider using an alternate route, such as I-35, I-235/US-77 and I-40, authorities said.
