As Labor Day weekend approaches, the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority reminds drivers to travel safely.

Labor Day weekend is one of the busiest travel times for families planning to get away for the holiday.

According to AAA, the amount of travelers this year is expected to be the largest since 2008.

“We want to ensure their safety as they share the roadway, and we encourage all travelers to stay focused and alert while driving,” OTA Director Tim Stewart said.

OTA Safe Driving Tips:

  • Avoid cell phone use while driving
  • Stay cautious when driving through work zones
  • Plan trips ahead to account for traffic
  • Always buckle your seat belt
