A major arrest has put a career criminal behind bars. Benjamin Theall, 38, is being held without bond at the Oklahoma County Jail.

As it turns out, police have been watching him and his mother all month long and they suspect the two are running a family operation where they are selling drugs and guns out of their home!

Theall is a convicted felon and has a long rap sheet that dates back to 1994. But that did not stop him from trying to run his drug and gun operation from behind bars. Fortunately police were listening to all of his jail phone calls.

Police began listening to the jail phone calls on Aug. 13, the day after he was arrested by county sheriff's for possession of firearms after former felony conviction, possession of drugs, and concealing stolen property.

Court records state he called his mother Paula Theall, who is also a convicted felon with a long rap sheet and who is currently on probation. During that phone call the two talk about narcotics. They do the same the next day.

But court records state the next day, Aug. 15, Ben Theall talked with another family about selling a gun and using the money to help pay for school supplies.

On Aug. 21, police got a search warrant signed to raid the Thealls' home on SE 35th St. near Lindsay Ave. Inside police found 40 ammunition rounds, two AR-15 metal magazines, a loaded 9mm pistol and two M1 carbine magazines.

Court papers state some of the serial numbers were scratched off of some of those weapons so officers could not run a serial number to determine if it was stolen.

The search warrant states Paula Theall will also be facing charges of possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony. She is yet to be jailed.
