OKLAHOMA CITY -

An Oklahoma City mother was arrested after police said she slammed her daughter’s head against the wall.

According to police, officers responded to the incident last Friday night at a home in the 5500 block of Willow Cliff Road. The victim, who is under 6 years old, told officers that her mom hit her head on the wall. Officers said they saw the swelling on the victim's head.

The suspect, 25-year-old Abigail Lujan, reportedly told police, “Sometimes I get mad and take it out on my daughter.” Officers said they could smell an odor of alcohol on Lujan’s breath and person.

Lujan’s sister was also at the home during the incident. She said Lujan slammed the girl’s head against the wall four times. When she tried to stop Lujan, Lujan reportedly told her to get out of the house.

Lujan was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of child abuse. Her daughter is now in the custody of DHS.
