A fundraiser to help the family of a 4-year-old Sapulpa boy killed by a driver who smelled of alcohol has been created to help with the funeral.

On August 15th, just before 4 p.m. Brayson Gene was in a field about a mile southeast of Sayre in Beckham County when he was struck and killed by a pickup driven by 26-year-old Brandon Ryan Dowler, the collision report says.

The investigating trooper said Dowler smelled of alcohol.

“Right now we are just praying for peace and comfort during the family's hard time,” a family friend said.

A fundraiser has been set up to help with the unexpected costs the family is going to face.

“The fundraiser I have put together is simply to try making things easier on the family during this time,” the friend said.

Brayson Gene's Memorial Fund

Brayson's family said anything helps, whether it's donating a dollar or even changing your Facebook profile picture in memory of the boy.

Donations can also be made at the Green Hill Funeral Home in Sapulpa.

The funeral for Brayson is Friday at 2 p.m. in Sapulpa.

Officials are still investigating.
