A Cleveland County fugitive has been captured Thursday in El Paso, Texas.

According to the Cleveland County Sheriff’s office, Deputy U.S. Marshals arrested Teddy Dean Davis, 30, during a traffic stop. Davis, a convicted sex offender, was wanted on parole violations.

Davis was convicted in 2011 of lewd molestation/indecent proposal to child, after molesting a 6-year-old autistic child in Moore. He was sentenced to 10 years with the Department of Corrections.

Davis, authorities said, served two years of the sentence and was granted parole. He later violated the terms of his parole several times and was out of compliance.

Davis failed to appear June 23 in Cleveland County District Court for a motion to accelerate his sentence. A warrant was issued for his arrest and turned over to the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s office has a detective assigned full-time to the United States Marshal’s Metro Fugitive Task Force. The task force adopted the case and began searching for Davis.

After a two-month fugitive investigation, authorities tracked Davis to El Paso. Following his arrest, Davis was transported to the El Paso Detention Facility. He will be extradited back to Oklahoma.

Sheriff Joe Lester said the partnership with the Metro Fugitive Task Force gives the department additional resources to search for and apprehend fugitives around the globe.

“Our detective and deputy U.S. Marshals did a great job of tracking down Teddy Davis and arresting him before he could victimize another child,” Lester said. “I want to thank the Metro Fugitive Task Force for taking on this case. Without them we wouldn’t have the extra tools or wide-range jurisdiction to find fugitives from justice.”
