Norman Teen Faces More Charges In 'Old Man' Bank Robberies

The teenager accused in the "old man" bank robberies is facing additional charges.

Andrew Wilson, 17, of Norman was charged in Oklahoma County with one count of robbery in the first degree and one count of concealing stolen property.

Wilson turned himself in the same day the charges were filed. He was booked in the Oklahoma County Jail on Thursday, and he's currently out on bond.

The additional charges come a few days after Wilson was arraigned on first degree robbery charges as a youthful offender in Cleveland County.

Wilson allegedly voluntarily turned himself into authorities more than a week ago. He admitted he disguised himself as an elderly man and passed handwritten notes to bank tellers at three banks. The notes demanded cash from the register.

It's estimated he collectively stole $12,000 from a Midfirst Bank in Moore, IBC Bank in Moore and an IBC bank in Oklahoma City from February 2014 to June 2014.

"He [Wilson] made mistake, and he will pay for those mistakes," Gary James, a prominent Oklahoma City attorney said in Wilson's defense on Tuesday.

James said Wilson spent some of the money on "typical kid stuff" like gas, food, music and video games.

According to court records, Wilson returned nearly half of the stolen money, $6,825, and gave authorities his disguise.

"He is trying to do the right thing," James said.
