An early morning shooting leaves one man dead in northwest Oklahoma City.

Family members told News 9 that 21-year-old Cameron Polk died after he was shot at his friend’s house on the 4100 block of N.W. 21st Terrace around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

Jennifer Polk, the victim’s aunt, said her nephew was shot in the head when he went to the front door of the house after hearing a commotion.

Polk said her nephew had been at his friend’s house recording music at a studio inside the home.

A spokesperson for the Oklahoma City Police Department did not release much information, only saying officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area then found a the victim with injuries consistent with homicide.

News 9 also spoke with Polk’s fiancé and mother at the scene. They pleaded with any potential witnesses to come forward with information about what happened.

Reporter Chris McKinnon will have more on this story tonight on News 9 at 6 p.m.
