OKLAHOMA CITY -- Thousands of dollars in damage is left behind after a fire ripped through a popular tennis facility.

It happened at The Oklahoma City Tennis Center at Will Rogers Park. Firefighters haven't determined the cause of the fire, but officials are calling it suspicious.

The fire started around 11:30 p.m. Monday in a concession area at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center. It quickly spread to several nearby canopies, as well. The concession stand and everything inside it was destroyed by the blaze.

This is the state's largest outdoor tennis facility. It is open to the public and home to several school tournaments each year.

In 2006, the 45-year-old center underwent extensive renovations, adding $1.8 million in much needed upgrades, including sports lighting, misting stations, covered seating and landscaping.

It will now need even more renovations to repair the damage from this fire. Damages are estimated around $52,000.
