Tulsa Police say an elderly man was found at the bottom of a backyard pool at a vacant home Sunday evening.

The home is located in the 600 block of South 93rd East Avenue.

Officers said the man’s co-workers noticed his truck parked in the driveway at about 7 p.m., but could not find the victim in or around the house. After searching the neighborhood and nearby businesses for a couple of hours, the workers started to clean out the pool and found the 75-year-old man on the bottom.

"This particular pool, you can't see the bottom of the pool. So it wasn't really apparent that there was someone or something at the bottom of the pool," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Marcus Harper.

The house is owned by a company that renovates homes and the victim is part-owner of the home.

The state Medical Examiner’s Office is trying to determine if the man drowned or if he had a medical problem and fell into the pool.

Police have not released the man’s name, pending notification of next of kin.
