Hundreds of beer bottles littered the yard of a home in the 500 block of North Maplewood where an all-night birthday party ended in a shooting, according to police.

Man Shot In Head After All-Night Tulsa Birthday Party

Police say an all-night birthday party ended in a fight and a shooting in North Tulsa. Captain Steve Odom said "hundreds" of beer bottles littered the yard of a home in the 500 block of North Maplewood when officers arrived.

A neighbor called police at about 12:10 p.m. after hearing what she believed to be a gunshot and someone screaming, he said.

"There had been a party going on all night," Odom said. "It appears everybody was related in some form or fashion: aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters."

Three men showed up at the party and got into a fight with a man who had been at the home for some time, he said. Witnesses tell police the man took out a pistol and shot one of the recent arrivals.

Odom said it appeared the victim was shot in the upper part of the head. The man was alert and talking, and Odom believes he had just been grazed by the bullet.

The shooter took off in a car, but police say they know his name.

Numerous relatives remained at the home as police investigate, including children.

"There's literally hundreds and hundreds of beer bottles in the yard," Odom said.
