Four In-State Schools Set To Play In MGM Grand Basketball Tournaments

Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Tulsa and Oral Roberts will all play in events at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas during the Fall semester.

OSU, TU and ORU will tip November 24-26 in the “MGM Grand Main Event,” a new tournament featuring eight teams playing on Monday and Wednesday of Thanksgiving week. The ‘Heavyweight’ bracket includes Auburn, Oklahoma State, Oregon State and Tulsa while the ‘Middleweight’ bracket will feature Louisiana, Milwaukee, Oral Roberts and a final team to be announced. The pairings for both brackets will be announced on ESPN.com Tuesday, Aug. 5.

The second annual “MGM Grand Showcase” then returns Saturday, Dec. 20 with a high-profile doubleheader benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer. Oklahoma is set to take on Washington on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 4 p.m. CT followed by UNLV battling Utah at 6:30 p.m. CT. The UNLV game marks the first time the Rebels have played at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, which sits one mile from the school’s campus.

Last season, the first Showcase doubleheader saw Oklahoma State defeat Colorado and New Mexico beat Marquette.
