The summertime heat is back. After many record cool temperatures next week, typical July temperatures and extreme humidity have returned. Heat Advisories have been issued.

Monday night lows will drop into the mid-70s with a south breeze. Highs on Tuesday will climb back into the upper 90s and lower 100s. The humidity will be extreme again Tuesday causing the heat index to soar to up above 100 for much of the state.

Heat indices will range from 100 to 109 degrees. A weak cool front will arrive on Wednesday, but this one won't have much of an impact on our temperatures. It will bring a slight chance of isolated showers with best chances in eastern Oklahoma.

Due to the heat and humidity, a Heat Advisory is in effect through Wednesday evening for the counties in yellow. This does include the Oklahoma City Metro.

If you can avoid spending a lot of time outdoors during the peak heating hours of 1 to 5 p.m., that would be best. Try to get your outdoor work done in the morning or late in the evening.

If you must be outside during the hottest part of the day, please drink plenty of fluids, take plenty of breaks, and wear light colored loose fitted clothing. Heat exhaustion can sneak up on you really quick in these conditions.
