According to court papers, Wilfredo Gomez was driving without a driver's license or insurance and left the scene of the accident.

He's currently being held in the Oklahoma County Jail on a $61,000 bond, but he also has a hold placed on him by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which they only do on people who are non-U.S. citizens and who are deportable.

Wilfredo Gomez, 21, was arrested on June 25 after he took his badly damaged car to a body shop in downtown Oklahoma City.

The damage matched the car parts found near N.W. 23rd and Geraldine, the scene of where a deadly hit-and-run accident happened just three days before.

Jack McClung, 79, was walking back home from a nearby Braums after getting groceries, when he was hit and killed crossing the street.

“The old man is in the air,“ said Charles Combs, who witnessed the hit-and-run. “The car like backs up, and when the old man hits the ground, the car just speeds around him.”

McClung was a perfect example of the American Dream. He invented a pain relief ointment known as "Blue Stuff" and made millions selling it online and all over the world.

“He was one of the most special people I have ever met in my life,” said Tela Weible, McClung’s former personal assistant.

No one would have ever expected this millionaire-next-door to have his life cut short like this, walking across the street and just blocks from his home, by a man who was possibly hoping to live an American dream of his own, but who was in the country illegally.

Officers arrested Gomez near N.W. 16th and Meridian, and they believe he was trying to leave the country.

One of the parts investigators were able to match to Gomez's car was a foglight cover. They state there was also damage to the driver's side door consistent with the accident.

Gomez faces a total of four felony charges including manslaughter, leaving the scene of a deadly accident and driving without a license or insurance.
