Authorities are on the lookout for a suspect who escaped from a McClain County deputy’s vehicle after being arrested for burglary in Goldsby, Okla. on Thursday.

According to the sheriff’s office, three men were caught breaking into a home in Goldsby earlier on Thursday and were all taken into custody.

While awaiting transport to jail, one of the suspects, identified as 31-year-old Curtis Johnson, escaped from the back of the deputy’s vehicle and fled on foot while still handcuffed. He was last seen running south of the Goldsby airport.

The McClain County Sheriff’s Office and Oklahoma Highway Patrol have setup a command post at the airport and crews are conducting a search of the area at this time.

Norman SWAT has responded to the scene and will conduct searches of buildings and homes in area. OHP, Cleveland County and McClain County Sheriff’s deputies are searching vehicles in and out of area.

Authorities say Johnson has warrants out for his arrest in Florida and Oklahoma. He is considered armed and dangerous.

The identities of the other two men arrested for the burglary have not been released at this time.
