OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma City woman says she was expelled from a suburban college because she married her same-sex partner.

Christian Minard (MY'-nard) says she married in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on March 17 and posted the wedding license on Facebook. She says when she returned home last week from her honeymoon she had a letter from Southwestern Christian University telling her she would not be allowed to return for her final semester.

University Provost Connie Sjoberg (SHOH'-berg) said Minard had been a student at the school in Bethany but no longer was. She said federal privacy laws kept her from providing details.

Minard says she feels she was singled out for violating a lifestyles covenant that prohibits "homosexual behavior" and says other students have violated the covenant.
