Suspicious Package In Downtown OKC Deemed Safe

Police have cleared the scene after a suspicious package was discovered in downtown Oklahoma City, Wednesday afternoon.

The bomb squad was been called out to investigate suspicious boxes discarded in the 2100 block of W. Reno Ave. Investigators now say the items were harmless.

The eastbound off ramp of Interstate 40 to the new Crosstown Blvd. and westbound lanes of Reno Ave. were shut down at this time while crews investigated. Both have been reopened at this time.

Investigators say the box ccontaineda sleeping bag, clothing and other amenities of the like.
