OKLAHOMA CITY -

Authorities arrested a fugitive who led an Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy on a chase in a stolen car late Sunday night in Oklahoma City.

According to the Sheriff's office, at about 11:30 p.m., a deputy attempted to pull over a car with a broken headlight on S.W. 29th near S. Independence Avenue. However, the driver refused to stop. That's when the pursuit began.

At S.W. 33rd and Parkview Avenue, authorities say the driver, later identified as 33-year-old Jeremy Ramone Marks, jumped out of the car and took off on foot.

The deputy ran after Marks, but Marks was initially able to get away. A short time later, Oklahoma City police officers were able to locate Marks and take him into custody.

According to the Sheriff's office, the car Marks was driving had been reported stolen out of Oklahoma City. There were used syringes inside the car and Marks smell of marijuana.

Authorities also found out that Marks had multiple warrants in Pontotoc County and Seminole County. He was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County jail on multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding a peace officer, obstructing an officer, driving under the influence of drugs, driving under suspension, and defective equipment.
