The 2nd Annual Bricktown Fourth Fest kicked off Friday with live bands performing every hour until the big fireworks finale.

The stage, lights and mic are all set for the live musicians at the corner of Oklahoma and Sheridan.

"I like to watch all the bands play, we like music, and will watch all the fireworks at the end," said Hardy Dedgeon of Austin, who came to OKC with his wife for the first time.

Crews worked hard in the heat to get everything perfect and patriotic for the big Fourth of July festival.

"It's brings people down to the core of Oklahoma City, it brings people to the center of business and to where we're trying to create the center of life in downtown," said Jeff Kretchmar, the event organizer and director of operations for Prodigal.

Five different bands will perform, including Beat Street, the Argots, Good Cultre and Hosty Duo. Underneath the tents, there will be plenty of food and cold drinks.

"I love it, we came here about a year ago and had a good time," said Kevin Burandt from the Woodlands in town visiting his sister.

The event attracts tens of thousands to the Bricktown area.

"It's a happening place, it's a beautiful place," said Michael Green, a retired firefighter for the Village."It's just something to do that's different than just hanging around the house by the pool."

And from near and far, people love the festivities.

"We're from Ada, so it kind of gets boring in a small town, so we come here," said Lisa Vest, who came to the Fourth Fest last year."Well my kids and I, we do it every year, and we have a good time, so we just like to do that for the family."

The fest will go on alongside the Red Hawks game versus the Iowa Cubs.

"I just like spending time with my family and my friends here," said Emily Caro of Ada.

Texas band "Oil Boom" will be the last group up before the big 25-minute light show.

"I just like watching the fireworks because it's really, really cool, and there's a lot of different things and they're awesome," said Spenser Vest of Ada.

The Fourth Fest is free to the public, and the fireworks show will start after the baseball game.
