Odyssey Sims' first season in the WNBA hasn't been the easiest of her basketball life, but Thursday night, a career performance helped overshadow the inconsistencies.

Sims scored a career-high 30 points and the Tulsa Shock beat the Connecticut Sun 96-83 to snap a three-game losing streak.

Sims went 11-of-17 from the field, far and away her best shooting performance this season. She also hit 2-of-4 3-pointers and hit all six of her free throws.

Skylar Diggins had 20 points and Courtney Paris added 12 points and 15 rebounds for Tulsa (7-10).

Rookie Alyssa Thomas had 24 points and Katie Douglas scored 21 for the Sun (8-10), who have lost four straight.

Tulsa scored the first 12 points of the game and led by as many as 15 in the first quarter. However, Connecticut battled back to tie the score with 4:20 remaining in the second quarter and took the lead on a Thomas jumper with 3:03 left in the period.

The Sun led, 46-45 with 8:32 remaining in the third quarter, but two free throws from Paris gave Tulsa a 47-46 lead with 7:47 in the third and the Shock never trailed again.

The Shock also dominated the Sun on the glass 42-27, grabbing 17 offensive boards.

Sims' two free throws gave the Shock a 51-46 advantage with 6:44 remaining in the third.
