A former Oklahoma man was arrested in Texas for a murder that happened in Washita County years ago.

US Marshals, along with Texas Rangers and other local law enforcement arrested 35-year-old Ronnie Denny Jr. at his home in Princeton, Texas on Monday night. He is facing a charge of first-degree murder in the death of his estranged girlfriend, Melissa Flores, who went missing on Jan. 27, 2007.

Denny had long been considered a suspect after Flores' car was found outside his home the day she went missing. Authorities have never found her body, but consider her case a homicide.

News 9 spoke with Denny back in July 2007.

"I loved her. She was the mother of my child. I wouldn't do something like that," Denny said.

Because the arrest warrant is based upon a sealed indictment, OSBI cannot release any information at this time about the case. The indictment will be unsealed once Denny is extradited back to Washita County.

Denny was booked into the Collin County Jail in McKinney, Texas. His extradition process will begin soon.
