Another hot, windy and steamy afternoon across Oklahoma with south winds 20-30mph under hazy sunshine. Highs will be in the middle to upper 90s with the heat index approaching 105° in some spots.

A cold front will be slowly moving south out of Kansas and could spark off a t-storm northwest of Woodward by evening. These storm chances will go up through the evening and some of the t-storms could be severe with damaging winds and large hail.

The showers and t-storms will likely stay confined to mainly the northwestern parts of the state through the evening hours.

After midnight the storms will try to slide south into western Oklahoma into the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metro areas overnight.

The severe weather risk will diminish overnight but they'll still be capable of gusty winds, small hail, frequent lightning and very heavy rains. This cold front slowly works its way through the state on Tuesday and Wednesday with more rain chances and highs in the 80s.

So some relief is on the way from the heat but only for a couple days.
