The National Weather Service says the storm that caused damage in Adair on Saturday was a weak tornado with winds of 70 to 80 m.p.h.

Meteorologists surveyed storm damage in the Mayes County community Monday morning to determine the strength of the tornado.

The National Weather Service said according to the Enhanced Fujita scale, the tornado was classified as an EF-0 tornado.

The tornado struck at 3:22 p.m., damaging several buildings, power poles and trees. They said the tornado developed southwest of Adair and moved to the east-northeast at about 40 m.p.h. damaging the fire station, several businesses and homes.
