Severe Weather Moves Into Central Oklahoma

The line of storms that affected northwest Oklahoma Saturday morning has moved into central Oklahoma this afternoon.<br />

The line of storms that affected northwest Oklahoma Saturday morning has moved into central Oklahoma this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, at 1:55 p.m. strong thunderstorms were along a line extending from four mile southwest of Yale to near Wellston, moving northeast at 35 mph and producing winds gusting up to 40 mph.

A significant weather advisory has been issued until 2:30 p.m. for northern Lincoln and southeastern Payne Counties.

Several locations will be impacted by these storms including Cushing, Chandler, Stroud, Yale, Davenport, Wellston, Carney, Tryon, Ripley, Agra, Warwick, Kendrick, Avery and Parkland.

Due to the heavy rainfall, flood warnings have been issued for Harper, Woods and Woodward Counties. A flood advisory has been issued for Lincoln, Logan, Oklahoma and Payne Counties.

Many are without power after severe weather moved into Oklahoma, Saturday.

  • North Oklahoma City - 207
  • West Oklahoma City - 51
  • Woodward - 186
