DUNCAN, Oklahoma -

The Duncan Community Intervention Center is facing layoffs after over $100,000 was cut from its budget.

The Duncan Banner reports the Community Intervention Center, which provides a place for officers to take children who are arrested, is facing a $126,476 budget cut.

According to John Herdt, executive director of Youth Service for Stephens County, the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs offered only $53,200 this year, as opposed to $179,676 in 2013.

Herdt said if funding isn't restored, the center will be forced to lay off seven of the center's nine employees.
