The University of Tulsa Head Football Coach Bill Blankenship and the Golden Hurricane coaching staff will once again host Football 101 for Women this summer. The event is a women-only look behind the scenes of the TU football program and gives women an opportunity to learn more about the game of football.

Football 101 will be held on Thursday, July 24th beginning at 6:30 pm at the Case Athletic Complex on the TU campus. The cost is $25.00 per person and includes dinner from Naples Flatbread and Wine Bar.

Proceeds from the event will go to benefit Feed My Starving Children. More than $6,000 over the last three years has gone to benefit the Tulsa Boys' Home in 2013 and the Tulsa Chapter of the American Cancer Society in 2011 and 2012.

"We've had a great time in each of our first three years as a staff conducting Football 101. It has been entertaining and a lot of fun for the coaches, and hopefully it has been for the women as well," said Blankenship.

The deadline to register is Friday, July 18th. Women are encouraged to RSVP early as space is limited to 200 participants. Registration will close when the reservations reach 200. Contact the Golden Hurricane Club at 918.631.2570 to RSVP.

Tulsa kicks off the 2014 season on Thursday, August 28th at 7:00 pm against the Tulane Green Wave. It is the first-ever American Athletic Conference game for both teams.
