A child was killed Thursday when a vehicle struck her on State Highway 48 in Johnston County.

It happened at 11:55 a.m. Thursday within the city limits of Coleman, Okla.

OHP said a 2009 Chevrolet, driven by 67-year-old Ruth McGraw of Norman, was heading southbound on State Highway 48 when it struck 6-year-old Terrin Barrett of Coleman. The vehicle had one passenger, a 12-year-old girl of Allen, Okla.

Barrett was transported to the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant, where she was pronounced dead, according to the OHP report.

Troopers said both the driver and the passenger were not injured.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
