Woman Seriously Injured After Being Hit By SUV In NW OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A woman is in serious condition after she was hit by an SUV in northwest Oklahoma City.

It happened early Thursday morning at the intersection of N.W. 24th and Classen. The woman was taken to the hospital. And the driver was taken into police custody.

Police tell us the woman was running across the road when she was struck by an SUV. Officers do not know why the woman was in the street at that time.

The woman was taken to a local hospital where she is being treated for her injuries. We're told she is in serious condition.

The driver is currently being questioned about the accident. He was put into the back of a police car.

Police are not saying whether they suspect alcohol or reckless driving played a part in the accident. But so far, no charges have been filed.
