At 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, the millionth guest came through the Oklahoma City Zoo's turnstiles, setting a record for 1 million zoo visitors during a fiscal year and during its 110th birthday year.

Megan Tracy, and her two sons, Caden, 6, and Cason, 3, drove two hours from Hobart and became the zoo's "one in a million." They received a surprise safari adventure from the zoo and Oklahoma Zoological Society, including a 5-year, ZooFriends' membership, behind the scenes tour, $100 zoo gift card and memorabilia.

"It was so important that we have a good time, and I prayed this morning that we would have a fun day at the zoo," said Tracy. "I had no idea that we would be treated like royalty."

Zoo guests can still be part of the 110th historic year by participating in the zoo's #110 Ways to Zoo It promotion—which means 110 days of giveaways through August 15.

The #110 Ways to Zoo It promotion is brought to you by News 9, Jake FM, Magic 104 and the Oklahoma City Zoo!

Entry Forms and Contest Rules

The zoo is offering Way Back Wednesdays beginning July 2 where admission is only one dollar each Wednesday for all guests through August 27. Additional dollar deals for select rides and snacks will be available.

The zoo's next free day is July 17, in recognition of Oklahoma City citizens passing a 1/8 of a cent dedicated sales tax to the Zoo in 1990.
