There was a one-two combo of big announcements out of Norman on Tuesday, as it was revealed that Sooner football coach Bob Stoops is expected to receive a raise on Wednesday and the school is also set to unveil the proposed renovation plans for Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium at Wednesday's board of regents meeting in Ardmore.

The raise would be the first for Stoops since 2011 and shouldn't come as much of a surprise coming off of a Sugar Bowl victory against Alabama and links to the vacant Cleveland Browns job opening. Stoops' current contract runs through 2020 and he is scheduled to receive $4.95 million next year.

It is expected that the new deal will be in excess of $5 million annually. Only three other FBS football coaches earn $5 million or more per season, led by Nick Saban's $6.9 million contract at Alabama. Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin, a former Stoops assistant at OU, and new Texas coach Charlie Strong earn $5 million each.

The unveiling of the renovation plans have been widely anticipated and reportedly include new coaches offices, press box, luxury suites above the west-side upper deck, a new video screen, fan amenities and a new weight room.

The renovation is expected to be a three-phase project that will be paced in direct relation to fundraising efforts.
