OK Man Charged For Using Elderly Mother's Money To Pay For Bills

An Oklahoma City man has been charged on Tuesday for taking money from his 100-year-old mother to pay for his own bills.

A nursing home employee called police after Rex Ragan failed to pay more than $10,000 for his mother's care.

Ragan allegedly told the nurse that his mother, who has dementia, gave him permission to use the money. Ragan admitted in a letter that he was using the funds to pay for his legal and financial problems, instead of paying for his mother's care.

Ragan has been charged with exploitation of the elderly.
