Another hot, muggy summer day in Oklahoma, but those rain and storm chances ramp up again starting tonight. Nothing new for us in June!

Heat index values this afternoon will reach the mid and upper 90s with winds around 15 to 20 mph. There's a very slight chance we'll see a few pop-up showers and maybe a storm this afternoon.

This evening and tonight, a larger complex of storms will move off the front range of the Rockies down into Oklahoma. The highest likelihood of strong to severe storms will be in the panhandle and far northwest Oklahoma. The primary threats will be large hail and damaging winds. Storms will likely weaken as they move further into the state. Look for them in central Oklahoma around or shortly after midnight.

Rain chances will stay up Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The longer these rain chances stay around, the better! We're effectively chipping away at the drought!
