Two 3.0 Magnitude Earthquakes Reported Near Medford

The United States Geological Survey reported two 3.0 magnitude earthquakes in Grant County Sunday.<br />

The United States Geological Survey reported two 3.0 magnitude earthquakes in Grant County Sunday.

The first quake was recorded at 8:51 a.m., seven miles northwest of Medford, 32 miles north of Enid.

Then at 12:33 p.m, a second earthquake was recorded four miles east of Medford, 31 miles northwest of Ponca City.

Both tremors were recorded at a depth of over three miles.

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
