OHP Identifies Driver Killed In Blaine County Fiery Crash

Authorities have identified a driver who was killed in a fiery crash involving two tanker trucks, just north of the town of Geary in Blaine County, Thursday afternoon.

Authorities have identified a driver who was killed in a fiery crash involving two tanker trucks, just north of the town of Geary in Blaine County, Thursday afternoon.

Crews were called to the scene on state highway 270, just after noon. A witness in the area reported hearing an explosion at the same time of the accident.

The wreck involved two tanker trucks, one hauling crude oil the other hauling citric acid. One driver, later identified as 54-year-old Roy Ward of Mustang, was killed in the crash, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. 

The other driver escaped with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
