Tulsa Teen Dies Following Highway Shooting

Posted: Updated:

A 14-year old shot in the head on a busy Tulsa highway Thursday night has passed away.

The teen died at 2:48 a.m. Friday morning, according to Tulsa police.

Investigators say the motive of the shooting right now is "pure speculation at this point."

The teen was with family in a truck on the Gilcrease Expressway last night when a car pulled up next to them and opened fire.

Prior to the shooting the victim's truck was in the area of Pine and Peoria before getting on the Gilcrease Expressway.  There is no indication that the family of the teenager had any issue or problem with anyone on the drive, according to a news release by Tulsa Police.

Police say the suspect's vehicle is a black car in the mid-2000 range

This is Tulsa's 18th homicide of 2014.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to call Tulsa crime stoppers at 918-596-2677.
