OKLAHOMA CITY -

An upscale state of the art gun range that is under construction right now will allow its customers to have a beer after pulling the trigger.

After some debate, OKC city council is allowing alcohol to be served at Wilshire Gun in northwest OKC.

Tuesday at City Council, Wilshire Gun's General Manager Jeff Swanson explained to councilmembers what kind of safety precautions it will take with its liquor license.

Customers can only enjoy an alcoholic beverage after they're done shooting at the range at not beforehand.

To reserve a shooting lane, a customer has to have their driver's license scanned. It's scanned again when an alcoholic beverage is ordered at Wilshire Gun's café.

"You are red flagged at that point," said Swanson.

Swanson says once an alcoholic drink is ordered, that customer will not be allowed back into any of Wilshire Gun's 24 shooting lanes as a shooter or spectator.

The 42,000 square foot facility will feature the state's only indoor 100 yard shooting lanes.

Swanson says current and former law enforcement officers will make up part of the staff at the facility.

Construction is supposed to be completed by late June to July.
