Energy Blown Out By Galaxy II Late Sunday Night

OKC Energy FC dropped a 5-0 decision to the LA Galaxy II Sunday evening at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. LA Galaxy II improved to 6-2-3 with 21 points, while Energy FC fell to 2-7-0, six points.

Chandler Hoffman scored his first of the game on a header in the 13th minute to give LA Galaxy II a 1-0 lead over Energy FC. Galaxy II sent several chances high over the crossbar in the half. Energy FC goalkeeper Jon Kempin made two saves in the first half.

Galaxy II extended its lead to 2-0 in the 22nd minute when Hoffman converted a penalty kick. Energy FC's best scoring chance of the half came following the conversion as Kyle Miller brought the ball into the box and Christian Duke's scoring chance was block.

Galaxy II goalkeeper Cody Laurendi punched out a Miller cross and Kempin made the second of his two saves in the half.

Bradford Jamieson IV extended Galaxy II's lead to 3-0 in the 51st minute as he worked through the defense and beat Kempin with a low shot. Jamieson added his second of the game five minutes later to push the Galaxy II advantage to 4-0.

Jack McBean added a fifth goal in the 69th minute to secure the final score, 5-0.

Energy FC returns to U.S. Open Cup action Wednesday evening against league foe Arizona United. Match time is 9:30 p.m. CT from the Peoria Sports Complex. The game airs locally on 96.1 FM KXY with Jack Damrill and Mo Boreham.

Energy FC returns home on Saturday against the New York Red Bull reserves.
