Green Light: Spurs' Guard Nails Seven 3s In Blowout Of Thunder

Danny Green shot 7-10 from the 3-point line.  The Thunder's entire team shot 5-10...from the free throw line. 

You read that correctly, and it pretty much sums up Game 2. 

Green's 3-point bonanza led San Antonio to a decisive 112-77 win in Game 2.  Green finished with 21 points, while fellow backcourt starter Tony Parker scored 22. 

Despite the outcome, the Thunder came out and played well early.  Oklahoma City actually led 26-24 after the first quarter, but it was all downhill from there. 

San Antonio outscored OKC 34-18 and 33-18 in the third, blowing the doors off any shot the Thunder had to hang around. 

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook scored just 15 points each. Durant shot 6-16 while Westbrook managed just 7-24.  Jeremy Lamb added 13 points off the bench on 6-8 shooting.

Thunder coach Scott Brooks kept his starting lineup intact on Wednesday despite the result of Game 1.  Nick Collison, who went scoreless in Game 1, managed just two points in 13 minutes.  Thabo Sefolosha, who was also held scoreless in Game 1, produced another goose egg on Wednesday.  

Sefolosha is now 0-9 shooting in the series with zero points.  His counterpart, the Spurs' starting shooting guard, Green, is now 13-18 shooting, 11-15 from 3, and has 37 points.  

Oklahoma City was outrebounded 53-38 and shot just three free throws in the second half.  Those stats are typically indicative of a lack of effort, and Spurs' forward Boris Diaw confirmed that indication after the game. 

"They gave up on the game pretty early," Diaw told the media. 

San Antonio shot 50 percent from the floor, 39 percent from downtown and nailed 21-23 from the line.  OKC shot just 39 percent from the field and a putrid 2-20 from 3-point range.  The Spurs outscored the Thunder 54-42 in the paint. 

The 35-point blowout equals the worst loss margin in franchise (OKC or Seattle) history.  

Game 3 is Sunday in Oklahoma City.  The Thunder will look to repeat their performance from the 2012 playoffs, where OKC fell behind 2-0 before rallying for four straight victories. 

One guy who is still optimistic is injured forward Serge Ibaka, who took to Twitter after the game to show his support. 

"I still believe my teammates are gonna make it happen #ThunderUp," Ibaka tweeted.
