Another wonderful Spring day ahead for the Sooner state. Highs today will warm up just a bit more than yesterday with more low to mid 80s for central and western Oklahoma. Winds will be a bit stronger, too, out of the southeast at 15 to 25 mph with some gusts around 30 mph. Expect the clouds to thin out this afternoon.

As we head further into the week, the heat will build across the state, bringing the 90s back to Oklahoma through mid-week. A powerful upper-level storm system will set up shop just west of Oklahoma later this week, bringing rain chances into western Oklahoma as early as Thursday evening. At this point, the Memorial Day weekend looks wet. Not for everyone, but I would anticipate scattered showers and storms around from Friday through at least Monday, depending on how this storm system behaves. We certainly need the rain in western Oklahoma and this system could provide it.

We'll continue to watch it throughout the week!
