What is your reason for running? "My interest in politics was renewed following the financial meltdown in 2008 and the senate's scandalous reaction to it. The founding fathers intended the senate to be a deliberative body that carefully considers the impact of the legislation on which it votes. Instead, the senate rushed through an ill-considered bailout that has doubled the money supply in this country and essentially halved the purchasing power of American citizens when they purchase necessities. For example, the price of milk a few years ago was around $1.89 a gallon and now it is approaching $5.00 a gallon. Similar price inflation can be seen when one purchases other necessities (groceries, meals at restaurants, fuel, etc.). The devaluation of the dollar is one reason that gas prices are rising at a time when the U.S. is producing oil at historically high levels. While the congress spent its time arguing over a farm bill that at most will save us $2.3 Billion dollars a year over the next 10 years, the Federal Reserve was undertaking a bond buying policy to the tune of $85 billion dollars a month. Such policies as these are undermining the well-being of working families. As your U.S. Senator, it is my intention to look after the interest of working families consistently, and never be distracted by the various scandals of the week on which too many in Washington focus their attentions."

Why should Oklahomans vote for you? "The founding fathers believed that senators should look after the best interest of their states. As your US Senator, I will defend the rights of Oklahomans to determine what is in the best interest of their communities and pursue policies that reflect their decisions. Having taught a number of years as a college professor, I am adept at arguing my position in an effective and articulate manner. I am confident that I can bring this skill to use when it comes to defending and promoting the policies advocated by the people of Oklahoma before the U.S. Senate."

What is your political experience? "As a professor of History who has spent the last couple of decades investigating the factors that have undermined republics around the world throughout time, I understand well the social, political, and economic problems that face the United States at this critical time. My experience, therefore, is not limited to the narrow concerns of any special interests, but is grounded in an historical understanding of functioning republics and the vision that the founding fathers held for this nation."
