Grand River Dam Authority Police continue to search Lake Hudson for a missing woman. They have identified her as 22-year-old Kari Lyn Ogden. Authorities say she was a Sand Springs resident.

Two witnesses said they were at their home on Lake Hudson Saturday night when they heard Ogden's husband call for help.

Tim and Julie King live in a gated community west of the Highway 20 bridge. They put their boat in the water and went to try to assist him.

"When we got down here to get the boat in, we could hear him yelling -- just screaming, 'help me, help me, help me,'" Julie said.

Ogden's husband told them his wife jumped from their craft to swim. The wind picked up, and the boat drifted away from Ogden who then began to have difficulties.

Although her husband jumped into the water to help her, neither he nor the people who went to his aid were able to find her.

"By the time we got out there, there was just one in the water and soon as we got out to him, pulled him in the boat, the first thing he said was, 'my wife drowned,'" Tim King said Sunday.

GRDA Police say they don't believe Ogden was wearing a life preserver.

The search is concentrated along the Highway 20 bridge near Snowdale State Park, according to GRDA Communications Director Justin Alberty. That is on the west side of the lake, across from Salina.

"The wind is really making it tough because of the way it's pushing our boats," Alberty said. "They're out there for the duration as long as they can be."

The Salina Fire Department first got the 911 call at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday from a man who told them a woman had been in the water and was missing. Crews from GRDA, Salina and Locust Grove began the search shortly afterward.
