After a beautiful quiet Friday, the wind, temperatures, and storm chances are going up for the weekend.

Saturday, highs will be climbing back into the lower 90s with south winds 15 to 25 mph. There will be a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms Saturday afternoon.

Most locations will stay dry, but if a storm develops over your area it could become strong to severe. The main threats will be large hail and strong wind gusts.

There will be a higher threat for severe weather on Mother's Day, Sunday, especially in western and southwestern Oklahoma. Highs on Sunday will reach the lower 90s with south winds cranking up 20 to 40 mph.

As a dryline approaches from the west, there will be an opportunity for discrete supercells to develop.

Any storm that organizes ahead of the dryline will be capable of large hail up to the size of baseballs and damaging winds to 70 mph. There will also be a slight threat of isolated tornadoes. The area of most concern will be in western Oklahoma in the area highlighted with the moderate risk.

Storms are expected to develop after 4 p.m. and advance to the east through the evening Sunday. Storms should weaken as the approach I-35, but there will still be a chance for severe storms in the OKC Metro.

Late Sunday into early Monday, a cold front will advance through the state from the NW to the SE. Additional storms will fire along the cold front and will be capable of large hail and damaging winds. The storms along the cold front should provide heavy rain for a large portion of the state into Monday.

Stay tuned for the very latest.
