When asked if he saw Durant's MVP speech, Rivers said yes and went on to praise Durant and his unselfishness.
"I thought it was great, I was really moved by it," Rivers said.
Specifically, Rivers commended Durant for his words toward his mom, Wanda Pratt.
"It was nice that he included his teammates and coaches and everybody, but the neat part for me was his mom," Rivers said. "His mom and him and his brother had been through so much. It's rare that you get a chance to publicly thank your parents. I thought that was really cool."

Rivers also lauded Durant for his genuine delivery.
"You can tell he obviously didn't have notes or anything like that; it came straight from the heart," Rivers said. "I thought it was really nice."
