Tulsa basketball coach Frank Haith added to the Golden Hurricane staff with the appointment of Brett Burman as the program's Director of Basketball Operations, it was announced today.

Burman, a Miami native and graduate of the University of Wisconsin, spent the last two years with the Detroit Pistons' video department. He previously worked as the video coordinator at Hofstra University, served as a graduate assistant at the University of Miami, and has trained prospective NBA players in pre-draft workouts.

"We are excited for Brett to join our staff as Director of Basketball Operations," Haith said. "He brings extensive video experience, and his time in the NBA with the Pistons brings an added dimension to his repertoire. He has strong organization and planning skills, which will be important for our program."

For the last two years, Burman was a video assistant and then an assistant video coordinator with the Pistons. He logged film of opponents and constructed video scouting reports, assisted on the court with player development, and scouted with the NBA D-League affiliate, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Burman served as the basketball video coordinator at Hofstra during the 2011-12 season, coordinating film breakdown and scouting reports, and preparing scouting videos for opponents. He also facilitated film exchange and self-scouting, and assisted the coaching staff with recruiting, budget and travel planning.

From 2009-11, Burman was a graduate assistant at the University of Miami, working for those two years under Haith. He was responsible for video editing and opponent scouting, as well as the offseason player development program. He assisted with basketball operations, including travel, budget and academics.

Burman also spent two summers (2007-08) at the Abunassar Impact Basketball Camp, in Las Vegas, teaching basketball skills to players of all ages as well as working with college players during NBA pre-draft workouts. Burman assisted with player development, pre-draft training, daily operations, travel and scheduling.

Burman received his bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Wisconsin in 2009.
