OKLAHOMA CITY -

Still a slight chance of a few isolated thunderstorms this evening, but after sunset the chances really go down.

A dryline will move in from the west on Wednesday as a mid-level storm approaches Oklahoma. As south winds increase moisture across the state, there will be a chance for a few severe thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening ahead of the dryline. Any storm that can get organized will have the potential to produce hail up to the size of tennis balls and winds to 70 mph.

The tornado threat will be low, but not zero. The best chance for storms will be in southwest Oklahoma after 4:00 PM. Storms are expected to move to the north and east possibly impacting the OKC metro after 5:00 PM. Rain chances for central Oklahoma are at 50 percent.

As the main wave moves in Wednesday night, we are expecting more widespread development with a low end threat of severe storms. This will be the best opportunity for much need rain with some isolated areas picking up .25" to .75". Main threats overnight into early Thursday will be small hail and damaging wind gusts.

The severe potential on Thursday will be very dependent on what happens Wednesday night. If we clear out and get more heating Thursday, more severe storms may be possible Thursday afternoon. Still too far out for exact details.
