A taste of summer heads our way this weekend and early next week before storm chances return Wednesday.

Temperatures will warm into the upper 80s and lower 90s this afternoon across the state. Winds will be breezy from the south at 12 to 22 mph.

Tomorrow starts a three-day stretch of potentially record-breaking temperatures. High temperatures, that is. The summer blast furnace makes a short but noticeable appearance in Oklahoma Sunday through Tuesday. Fire danger will be in the extreme category all three days with south winds gusting to over 30 mph at times and temperatures in the mid to upper 90s.

Temps start dropping and rain chances start rising on Wednesday as a big upper level system moves in and hangs around for a few days. Our best chances for rain and storms will be Thursday and Friday, the way it looks right now. Severe weather is possible with any storm chances that show up this time of year, so we'll be watching that threat closely.

And finally, of course, Thunder Up! ;)
