Hall of Famer Cheryl Miller has accepted the job as the new women's basketball coach at Langston University and is scheduled to be officially introduced at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the school.

Miller, the sister of NBA great Reggie Miller, is one of the greatest women's basketball players of all time. She was a four-time All-American in college at Southern Cal, leading the Trojans to back-to-back national championships in 1983 and '84. She also led Team USA to a gold medal at the 1984 Olympics.

She was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1995 and was also an inaugural member of the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in '99.

Miller has plenty of coaching experience, as well, having coached her alma mater from 1993-95 with a 42-14 record. After leaving USC, she went on to coach and serve as the general manager for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA, guiding them to an appearance in the 1998 WNBA Finals.

She is also well known for her stints as a sideline reporter and sportscaster, having worked for ABC, TBS and ESPN.

Langston athletic director Mike Garrett also has USC ties, having previously served as the school's AD.
