Monday morning, Oklahomans are already stepping into action to help after these devastating and deadly tornadoes.

Hours after deadly tornadoes ripped through our state and Arkansas, at the Red Cross Chapter in downtown Oklahoma City, volunteers are getting ready to head out to the worst hit areas.

Two of the three national Emergency Response Vehicles here will deploy to Arkansas Monday morning.

Here's a statement from CEO Janienne Belle,

"The Central and Western Oklahoma Region is ready to provide support to Eastern Oklahoma and Arkansas. Nearly one year ago, thousands of volunteers came to central Oklahoma to assist us with our tornado relief efforts and help us recover. It's our turn to pay it forward."

At least four volunteers from the metro area will move out with those vehicles. They will hand out meals to neighborhoods and emergency workers and provide cleaning supplies, tarps, rakes and gloves as needed.
