Suspect Flees From Norman Police During Multi-Crime Investigation

NORMAN, Oklahoma -

A domestic disturbance call led Norman police to a multi-crime investigation early Saturday morning. While investigating, one suspect fled the scene and sent police on a high-speed chase into Oklahoma City.

Around 2:36 a.m. Saturday, Norman police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of E. Mosier. On arrival, officers said they discovered other crimes were being committed including felony drug charges and counterfeit money violations.

According to the news release, the pursuit was initiated after one suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. The suspect drove westbound on Robinson Street, then northbound onto Interstate 35 into Oklahoma City where the vehicle left the roadway and crashed near N.E. 36th Street.

Police said the suspect was taken into custody, treated at the scene and then transported to a local medical facility for his injuries. No officers were injured in the pursuit.

According to Norman police, the suspect is now facing charges to include Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Obstructing an Officer and Felony Eluding a Peace Officer.
