Firefighters Responding To Explosions At SW OKC Home
OKLAHOMA CITY - Fire and rescue teams have recovered the body of a child who was inside an Oklahoma City home that caught fire early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded to the fire just before 5:30 a.m. at a home in the 1300 block of S.W. 23rd Street between Blackwelder and Indiana Avenues.
911 dispatchers say they received multiple calls from neighbors who heard explosions before seeing the fire consume the house.
A woman inside the house at the time of the blast has been rushed to a hospital. Her condition is not known. She told firefighters her 6-year-old grandson was also inside the house at the time of the fire.
At 6:15 a.m. firefighters confirmed they found the child's body.
The woman's husband was at work at the time of the fire. He's now at the scene speaking with investigators.
